Simplest Green Chutney

This green chutney has only 5 ingredients but in taste it’s surely not less! A quick spicy chutney for any chaats and sandwiches. The bright and fresh green of the chutney gives any dish a zing. If you want to try a more elaborate dhania chutney, you can try this one on my blog.

Also, this one stores well in the fridge – you can even freeze cubes of the chutney and thaw them as required 🙂

Coriander (cilantro) leaves: 1 bunch
Roasted cumin (jeera) seed powder: 1 teaspoon
Green Chillies: 3
Salt to taste
Lemon/Lime: 1 (optional)

  1. Clean and wash the coriander leaves and stalks. Also, wash the green chillies and remove their stalks.
  2. Grind the coriander leaves, green chillies, and cumin seed powder to a smooth paste in a chutney jar or a blender. You may add a little water to help grinding.
  3. Transfer to a bowl. Add salt to taste and mix well to blend. Check and adjust the salt.
  4. The chutney is ready. You may squeeze lemon/lime when serving.
