Lasuni Thecha

Thecha is a maharashtrian dish – it is a chutney but so spicy that I feel it is an achar! The main ingredient is chillies and garlic after all …. Simply fiery!

It is traditionally made in a mortar-pestle (okhali or kootan in hindi). If you don’t have one, you can use the chutney jar of the mixer or a food processor.

Usually, the ingredients are roasted/grilled whole. However, I have a small mortar, so I chopped the chillies and garlic before roasting. Click here for the complete recipe.
