Muthuswaram or Chakli (Spicy Spiral Snacks)

Muthuswaram (or mullu murukku as I like to call it), also known as Chakli in Hindi, Marathi is a crispy, crunchy, spicy fried snack made in spirals or coils. It is sometimes also referred to as Murukku (though I refer to the one twisted by hand by this name – kai murukku). Muthuswaram is a traditional Diwali treat or even enjoyed just otherwise as a teatime snack … Another of my favorite namkeens. I made these for this Diwali … Let’s go straight to the recipe.
