Idli/Dosai Molaga Podi (Dry Chutney Powder for Idlis, Dosas)
Idli molaga podi translates as chilly powder for idli. Fondly, referred to as “gunpowder”
by friends as it is spicy – fataakedar! Various names this one has, molaga podi, kara podi, karam podi, or just dosai/idli podi … Each home has its own variation and version of the podi. This podi/powder is a mandatory item in my stock. Heres, my version.

The idly/dosai molaga podi is yummy and hot to taste. And I like this besides all types of chutneys. When they added to rice and ate means it will be tasting good and mirchi.Hmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!

From skribles: Thanks Hulia
Can you please let me know how to use this spice blend? An acquaintance gave me a small bag to try but I failed to ask how to use it.
From skribles: You can make the chutney with this powder by taking about 1-2 teaspoons of the powder and adding oil to make a paste. This you can eat with idlis or dosas. You can use sesame (Til) oil or ghee for an extra rich taste for the chutney.
I have also given these same instructions at http://foodwithapinchoflove.wordpress.com/molaga-podi/
